Michael Albert Tour 2012 - Introduction to ParEcon

On Saturday November 10th, Michael Albert will be giving a talk on Participatory Economics at the Free University of Brussels. You are cordially invited to join us at 9:00AM CET, where he'll present the ParEcon vision in some detail, followed by a Q&A session for the audience.
Michael Albert is a U.S. citizen, an activist, economist, speaker, and writer.
During the 1960s, he was a member of Students for a Democratic Society, and was active in the anti-Vietnam War movement. He is co-editor of an on-line magazine called ZNet. He developed, with Robin Hahnel, an economic vision called participatory economics – an alternative to capitalism. Albert has also been a moving force in the creation of the International Organization for a Participatory Society (IOPS). IOPS is anti capitalist, anti racist, anti sexist, and anti authoritarian. It seeks to centrally address current problems relating to economics/class, politics, culture/race, kinship/gender, ecology, and international relations and think about alternative visions to work towards a future we all want. |

Starting at 13:30 until 16:00, Michael Albert will be giving a presentation about the International Organisation for a Participatory Society, its goals/aims and future prospects. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session for the audience.
